How
To Find a Profitable Niche Strategy
By: Tony

In order
to identify a profitable niche
strategy, you have to know where to begin. Every
veteran of internet marketing will tell you that you absolutely
must begin with a plan for effective keyword research. In this
article, I will walk you through that plan, step by step.
The first
step in your niche strategy is keyword research. Far
and away the best keyword research tool is the Google
Keyword Tool. This keyword tool is free.
There are
a number of keyword tools which are not free, and many of them
have capabilities that are very powerful, but I will save that
for my review page.
The best
place to start is with the tool from Google.
To identify a profitable niche strategy, I will give you an exact
example and some secrets which will help you on your way.
For this
example, I am going to explore the niche for acne products. There
are several good affiliate programs you can promote for acne products.
When I type
the word acne into the Google Keyword Tool, Google tells me that
there are between 3.5 and 4 Million searches per month for that
keyword.
Now, if I
go to Google search, and I type in the word acne, I can see that
there are more than 28 Million competing pages in Google's index
for that search term.
I know that
ranking for such a term is going to be very, very difficult. And
because we are looking for "profitable niches," we will
continue to look beyond that term.
So... let's
go back to the Keyword Tool.
I am about
to reveal a very powerful tip, so please pay very close attention...
Whenever
you are looking for a profitable niche strategy, simply add the
word "review" or "reviews" to the end of the
main keyword and do another search in the keyword tool.
The reason
for this is because, most of the time, when people are looking
for reviews, they have already decided to buy! They are not normally
just tire-kickers, they are actually interested in products.
When I add
the word review to the word acne, I have a whole new set of results.
The top results with over 30,000 searches are probably still too
competative to break in to the market.
When I look
down towards the bottom, I see a few words that are very interesting,
like "acne product reviews" and "acne skin care
reviews."
There are
several thousand searches a month, so I know I can get my foot
in the door and get some traffic coming to my site (remember,
we are hunting for profitable niches).
The next
step is to use another free tool, this one from Microsoft call
the adlabs tool.
The marketer
who introduced me to this tool acted like he didn't want to tell
me about it. The truth is, hardly anyone knows about it and probably
fewer marketers use it, but it is extremely powerful! Here's why...
When you
open the "tools" - "keyword research" - "detecting
online commercial intention," you will be given a search
bar. Select "query," and then enter your keyword (phrase).
When you
enter "acne product reviews," you will note that there
is a "non-commercial intention" of 76%. What that tells
you is that it is 76% likely that a prospect searching with that
keyword phrase WILL NOT BUY what you are attempting to sell.
But, when
you enter the phrase "acne skin care reviews," you will
notice that the "commercial intention" is 66%! This
means that when people are searching using that exact phrase,
they are 66% LIKELY to buy what you are selling.
I don't know
about you, but personally, I would much rather have those odds
in my favor than against me.
To be sure,
this is only the beginning to developing a powerful and profitable
niche strategy, but it is a great place to start.
